About Me

After obtaining my Ph.D. at WU Vienna (Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law) in 2012, I conducted postdoctoral research at the same university which I completed with a Habilitation in 2018. I worked as a Senior Tax Manager and certified tax advisor with KPMG Austria, advising national and international clients in the matters of business and corporate tax law. Since 2022, I am Professor of International Tax Law at the Maastricht University.

I specialize in international and European tax law and in particular tax treaty law. I have also conducted extensive research in income and corporate tax law, VAT and tax procedural law. In addition, for my Habilitation thesis on “Non-Discrimination in International Tax Law and World Trade Law”, I have gained extensive knowledge of WTO law and general concepts of non-discrimination.

I am involved in the Maastricht University’s master’s programmes, including the LL.M in International and European Tax Law, and conduct research at the Maastricht Centre for Taxation.
